In the Iranian capital city of Tehran, Netherlands street symbolizes Dutch kindness towards Iranians in an earthquake.

In the Iranian capital city of Tehran, Netherlands street symbolizes Dutch kindness towards Iranians in an earthquake.

One of the streets in the eastern neighborhood of Zarkesh has been named after the Netherlands.

This street also reminds Iranians of a devastating quake that killed many people in Iran.

When the quake happened, the Netherlands was among the first countries that came to Iran's aid and paid for the construction of 70 buildings and a church.

The one-story brick houses were built with the same design and later given to quake-hit people.

As a token of gratitude for this humanitarian act, the alley between these buildings is named the Netherlands.

The street is also a reminder of the Dutch people's generosity and compassion, and their willingness to help others in need.
